Quiz Night
Our Annual Charity Quiz Night was once again held at Kobenhavn in Halifax.
Scores were very close after the first round with Treasurer David Heap’s team, The Gigonauts, taking an early lead but only one point separating the top four teams. The scores had opened up slightly by the break and last year’s winners, The Defenders from Romeros had edged into 1st place closely followed by The Gigonauts in 2nd place and The Glory Hunters from Arch Insurance in 3rd place.
Refreshed by Pie & Peas, the Defenders moved further ahead after the 4th round with The Gigonauts 5 points behind in 2nd place and The Glory Hunters in 3rd. The Gigonauts closed the gap to 3 points after the next round with last year’s runners up, Brighter by Name Not by Nature! from Perspective moving into 3rd place. A perfect score in the last round for The Gigonauts drew them level with The Defenders but very close answers in the tie break question made The Defenders overall winners. The Gigonauts finished 2nd and Brighter by Name Not by Nature! Finished 3rd.
Thanks to very kind donations of raffle prizes from President Amanda Shaw, Arch Insurance, Sedgwicks and Brown & Brown which, together with everyone’s generosity on the night, helped us to raise £427 for Amanda’s chosen charity - Cash for Kids.
Amanda's employer Everywhen have also kindly matched taking the total to a fantastic £854
