Council Roles Confirmed for the 2026–2027 Presidential Year

Following our recent Annual General Meeting, we are pleased to confirm the Council roles for the Halifax and Bradford Insurance Institute for the forthcoming year.

Leadership

  • President – Amanda Shaw Cert CII 👩‍💼
    Amanda will continue in her role as President for a further year, providing strong leadership and continuity for the Institute. She will represent the Institute across the local market and wider CII network, while overseeing all activity including CPD, events and charitable initiatives.

Amanda will also work closely with Council to shape the direction of the Institute, ensuring it remains visible, relevant and valuable to members.

  • Deputy President – Kay Lang Cert CII
    Kay will support Amanda throughout the year, playing an active role across all areas of Council activity while preparing to step into the Presidency in the future. Her focus will be on supporting delivery of key initiatives and ensuring continuity moving forward.


Council Officers

  • Secretary – Kimberley Banks Dip CII 📝
    Kimberley supports the smooth running of the Institute, coordinating Council meetings, maintaining records and ensuring everything operates in line with governance requirements.

  • Treasurer – David Heap FCII 💼
    David oversees the Institute’s finances, managing income and expenditure and ensuring everything is run on a financially sound footing to support activity across the year.

  • Education Secretary – Suzanne Mitchell Cert CII 🎓
    Suzanne leads the Institute’s CPD offering, ensuring members have access to relevant, high-quality learning opportunities and support with their professional development.

  • Dinner Secretary – Terri Thompson Cert CII 🍽️
    Terri leads on delivering the Annual Dinner, one of the key events in the Institute calendar, bringing together the local market and providing valuable networking opportunities.

  • Engagement & Membership Officer – Amanda Chilcott-Perks Cert CII 🤝
    Amanda focuses on supporting and growing membership, encouraging engagement and strengthening connections across the local insurance community.

  • Charities & Diversity – Vivienne Lloyd ACII ❤️
    Vivienne leads on charitable activity and fundraising, while also promoting equality, diversity and inclusion across all areas of the Institute’s work.

  • Website Officer – Anthony Lee 🌐
    Anthony manages the Institute’s website, ensuring events, updates and key information are clearly communicated to members.


Additional Roles & Committees

  • Dinner Committee – Kimberley Banks & Amanda Shaw
    Supporting the planning and delivery of the Annual Dinner.

  • Regional Forum Officers – Amanda Shaw & Ian Chapman
    Providing a key link between the local Institute and the wider CII regional network.

  • Social & Events Committee – All Council Members 🎉
    Supporting the delivery of social and networking events throughout the year, with Chris and Debbie Kirkbride continuing to organise the annual quiz.

  • Social Media – Bodrul Uddin (supported by Council and CII centrally) 📱
    Helping to promote events and activity, ensuring the Institute maintains a strong and engaging presence online.
