The Insurance Charity Awareness Week: 22nd - 26th June 2026
3 August 2026
The Insurance Charity provides support to current and former insurance employees and dependants, facilitating one-off payments or ongoing payments to those in real need, as well as providing support and advice.

Richard Brame, Charities Officer and Vice President

The Insurance Charity Awareness Week was held between 22nd and 26th June 2026, with a support toolkit made available online and a push to increase awareness of the work that the Charity does.

An online session was arranged at the WTW Ipswich office during the Awareness Week and this was recorded. If you would like access to the recording, please contact LI.Dave.Hamer@cii.co.uk

In addition, please see a link below to a short YouTube video that talks about the work that the Charity does: https://youtu.be/HLVYfJP5OqM?si=quAeYtuwH86n40MT

The Insurance Charity has launched a new School Essentials Grants programme (again during the annual Awareness Week), providing financial support to insurance people with school-age children who are facing the ongoing pressures of household and education-related costs.

This programme will offer awards of £250 per child in the UK to help cover a range of school-related expenses, including clothing, equipment, activities, and school trips. The programme is open to eligible current and former insurance professionals across the UK, Ireland, and the Channel Islands who are receiving means-tested benefits.

My personal Insurance Charity Ambassador / Visitor training refreshers and annual checks have been completed and I look forward to potentially being able to assist future local claimants.
