Introduction to Marine Cargo Insurance
Products get made all over the world. Once that product is made, it needs to be transported to the retailer to be sold. This course will explore the element of marine cargo insurance, and how contracts are formed between the seller and the buyer of the goods. It will explore the insurance interest principle and how it differs to a general insurance product due to the nature and operation of the industry. You will determine the variety of the products available within the market, along with the appropriate underwriting considerations for each. Finally, the course will look at how claims arise, and how they technically work when a loss occurs.

Lloyds & Royal Courts of Justice Trip
London has played a defining role in the development of insurance over the last 250 years. The strapline ‘London Insures the World’ is still used today. Last year, CII Leicester organised a special day visit to London which featured guided tours of Lloyd’s of London and the Royal Courts of Justice. The visit was well received so we are organising another trip this year.
