President's Message
Welcome to the Lincoln Insurance Institute. The Lincoln Insurance Institute is the home of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and the Personal Finance Society (PFS) in Lincoln.
My vision for how the institute will look by the time my presential term comes to an end is that more of our members will be aware of, have had communication about and be engaging with the many events that are held in the area. I also envisage that other insurance professionals in the region, who are non-members, have had positive experiences or are aware of positive experiences either at an event hosted by our institute or perhaps via another professional. To put it simply, I hope that we are able to reach out and have a positive impact to more professionals than ever!
It's not enough to hope though. It is my duty, and that of the LII council members, to ensure that we are delivering quality relevant events, from a CPD, networking and a social perspective. It is also our duty to market effectively and raise awareness. I have no doubt that the team will work hard and try their best to meet this objective.
In the past 12 months we have spent 98% of our grant from the CII on CPD events, which is an absolutely fantastic result and I fully intend to keep up that sort of momentum so watch this space for future events.
I must also mention the annual dinner, which will be held at the Lincoln Hotel on the Beautiful Bailgate. The dinner remains a key objective of mine in terms of attracting interest from more of the region's key insurance firms.
This is therefore a 'call-to-action' to those firms in the region who have not attended the dinner despite easily having the budget, client base, suppliers and staff numbers to do so. Attending your local institute dinner really does have a positive impact on your brand! More will be said about this I'm sure.
All that is left for me to do now is thank the LII council members for allowing me to take the reigns and I wish all our Lincolnshire members the very best of luck over the next 12 months.
