Insurance Institute of Liverpool Careers Day

A number of Merseyside schools took part and local industry professionals assisted Peter.
The students took part in the Discover Risk/Discover Fortune Games in the morning session. This is a really fun and competitive game which is aimed at introducing students to the world of insurance. Have a look at the Summer 2018 In Touch for more information on the Risk Games.
After lunch a presentation was given by Greg Winter, a graduate trainee at Pavis financial management. .
As well as letting students know his journey into financial planning Greg gave students some handy tips, especially around the importance of reading. Did you know Chief Executives read an average of 60 books per year?
Tracey Fisher, previous president of the Liverpool Insurance Institute, talked about the value and importance of apprenticeships positions and how her company, Royal Sun Alliance is very supportive of many apprenticeship initiatives. Tracey explained the detail to the students and on how you “earn while you learn”.
The next event of the afternoon was speed networking. Here students asked local industry professionals questions about themselves and their roles. The speed networking was popular with the students, and it certainly kept the industry professionals on their toes!
Feedback was very positive with high scores on all categories. A few of the students comments are listed below.:-
• Very friendly people
• Well organised
• Really interesting job roles
• Interesting activities
• Entertaining method of teaching
• Loads of information
One particular comment made the organisers smile “It was Boss Lad!” now you can’t say better than that!
