‘2017 promises to be another interesting year for pensions’

In this informative presentation, Mike will give an update on current issues in the world of pensions and what 2017 might hold.

Will there be changes to tax relief or the State Pension Age? What are some of the key planning issues for 2017 and some of the difficult issues?

The target audience will be financial planners, paraplanners, investment professionals, accountants and legal professionals.

The learning objectives are:

  • To see pensions in the current political context and look at some of the potential changes ahead

  • To consider some of the key planning issues for 2017

  • To be aware of some of the current opportunities and threat to pension planning and saving

About the speaker:

Mike Morrison has worked in financial services for far too many years. In 1990 he joined Winterthur (now AXAWealth) as Technical Manager, playing an instrumental role in the development of their SIPP product and later their pioneering work on income drawdown. He joined AJ Bell in 2012 where he is Head of Platform Technical.

Mike is an ex-Chairman of AMPS (the Association of Member Directed Pension Schemes) and is on the Financial Planning Committee of the ICAEW. He is also an Associate of the Pensions Management Institute and the Chartered Insurance Institute, and he holds both an LLB and an LLM in European Law.

An accomplished speaker and writer on financial services matters, Mike is passionate about retirement and savings issues, and how we can better communicate these to a wider audience.
