Session 2 - “Being Human Matters Most”

Jason Black is a professional mountaineer, expedition leader and high-altitude specialist whose journey from adversity to the world’s highest mountains is a powerful story of resilience, purpose and human potential.

With Mt Everest | K2 | 8 × 8,000m | 21 × 7,000m | 52 × 6,000m | 2 Mountaineering World Records, Jason has built an extraordinary career operating in some of the most demanding environments on Earth.

Through Black Mountaineering, he leads purpose-driven expeditions around the world, built on a philosophy of purpose before profit and a deep commitment to the people and communities who make these journeys possible.

As a professional motivational and leadership speaker, Jason brings the lessons of extreme altitude into the corporate world, exploring resilience, leadership, teamwork, risk, decision-making under pressure and the power of human potential.

But behind the summits, records and achievements lies a very different story, one that reminds us that sometimes the greatest mountains we face aren’t the ones beneath our feet.

“The hardest mountains we climb are the ones within.”
