Outline:

This inspiring webinar explores the vital role of community in supporting and enhancing mental health. Aligned with the Mental Health Foundation's 2025 theme, we'll examine how community connections contribute to individual and collective wellbeing. Participants will learn about the latest research on social support and mental health outcomes, discover innovative community-based mental health initiatives, and gain practical strategies for building and strengthening supportive networks. This session aims to empower attendees to actively engage in and contribute to communities that foster positive mental health, creating ripple effects of wellbeing in their personal and professional spheres.

Session Objectives:

By the end of this webinar, participants should be able to:

· Identify and describe at least three evidence-based ways in which community involvement positively impacts mental health, drawing from current UK studies.

· Develop a personal action plan to increase community engagement, including at least two specific, measurable actions.

· Demonstrate the ability to recognise signs of social isolation in themselves and others, and list practical strategies to combat it.

· Design and initiate a community-building activity or initiative in their workplace or local area, aimed at promoting mental wellbeing
