Sheffield Local Institute are delighted to confirm that one of our longest serving members has been recognised by CII London for his outstanding contribution over many years. Derek is a Past President of Sheffield Institute and has also been an Area Representative. He was presented with his award by the national president Ashwin Mistry at Network Conference 2015. Howard Webb showed ‘Green Card’ for Insurance Industry/Schools Careers Event Former World Cup Final Referee Howard Webb made a motivational address ‘Leading the Field’ as part of an ambitious event held at The Source Skills Academy, Meadowhall on Thursday 15/1/15.The event was organised by the Insurance Institute of Sheffield and was designed to showcase the many different roles and occupations on offer to students looking to establish a career in the insurance industry. Key insurers such as Aviva, Allianz and Swinton were represented at the event which was staged in collaboration with schools in the South Yorkshire area. In addition to insurers, exhibitors included insurance brokers, risk managers, loss adjusters and solicitors. The Chartered Insurance Institute based in London travelled up to support the event and their Discover Risk and Discover Fortune programs have found favour with local schools.
