CPD Event - Fraud and Insurance Law

This event, delivered by John Habergham, the Co-Founder and Director from Myton Law, will explore the fraud in both common law and insurance law, its relevance in Consumer Insurance (Disclosure and Representations) Act 2012 and Insurance Act 2015, the fraud in obtaining a policy and making a claim and its impact on brokers.

Speaker Biograph

John focuses on disputes arising out of carriage of goods by road, sea, air and rail, including freight forwarders' rights and obligations; and insurance coverage work, both marine and non-marine, especially, in recent years, commercial property policies, including the law with regard to insurance brokers; international trade; drafting commercial agreements such as sales/purchase conditions and agency agreements.

His shipping work is focused on disputes under bills of lading, waybills and charter parties including anti suit injunctions and world wide freezing orders both in court and in arbitration proceedings.

He has built up an enviable insurance company client base.

John was rated as one of the leading practitioners in the transport law sector of Chambers Legal Directory in 2008 and subsequent years. He is the only Yorkshire lawyer to be rated for logistics work in Chambers and Partners 2019 UK Solicitors Guide.
