North East Insurance Institutes Webinar: Managing General Agents and the Value Chain

This webinar is aimed at enhancing understanding of the MGA market and the role that the MGAA plays in supporting this.

At the end of the session delegates will be able to:

  • Explain the value and purpose of the Managing General Agents’ Association
  • Describe how a Managing General Agent brings value to insurer and broker
  • Outline the operating Model of a Managing General Agent

Julia Coakley, Head of Operations, MGAA

Julia has worked within the insurance sector for a large part of her career.

Having spent more than 20 years in a broking role, followed by a move to underwriting, both in the high net worth, private clients’ arena, Julia has a strong understanding of insurer markets and trading channels.

In more recent years, she was responsible for the relationship management at senior manager and C suite level for the Insurance Fraud Bureau and Motor Insurers’ Bureau, subsequently joining the MGAA in January 2021 in her current role as Head of Operations.
