Overview

This training concentrates on the following key areas of the CII M92 syllabus:

  • Understanding accounting standards and insurance company accounts
  • Analysing businesses using financial ratios

The session will focus on using practical examples to demonstrate how to navigate and understand financial accounts and how to analyse and understand businesses using financial ratios. The examples selected will feature a mixture of insurance-based and non-insurance businesses.

Speaker Biography

Louise Ellender has been involved in forensic accounting at Baker Tilly since 2011. She has extensive experience in quantifying losses arising from loss of profits, business interruption, commercial disputes, fraud & fidelity and cyber incidents. She has worked for clients in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Australia and the USA and works closely with Baker Tilly international offices coordinating on global losses. As an ex-zoologist, she has a particular interest in farming and agricultural losses. In addition to her role as a forensic accountant, she enjoys developing and delivering training on many topics, but in particular in the field of Business Interruption.
