
WEBINAR - Sleep Well, Work Well: The Role of Rest in Mental Health

Overview:
This session explores why sleep is a core foundation of mental health, performance and safety at work. Participants will learn about the science of sleep, including circadian rhythms and the impact of sleep debt on mood, cognition, emotional regulation and physical health.
The webinar will highlight evidence linking poor sleep with stress, anxiety, burnout and productivity loss, and offer practical, realistic strategies for improving sleep hygiene in the context of busy, modern working lives.
The session will also touch on how organisations can support healthy sleep through working patterns, workload design and culture, aligning with the latest guidance on managing fatigue and work-related psychosocial risks.
Objectives:
- Explain the relationship between sleep, mental health, cognitive performance and safety at work.
- Recognise common work-related factors that disrupt healthy sleep patterns, including workload, shift patterns and the “always on” culture.
- Practise simple, evidence-based sleep routines and habits that can be tailored to individual lifestyles.
- Identify organisational and team-level actions that support healthier sleep
