    • Karen Brown, Mediation-Commercial devisions by agreement

Aimed at people who may be new to the industry or taking additional responsibility for the first time, this session is designed to show the importance of building skills and share the tips and hints on how to conduct oneself in a business environment.

In a world where more interaction is online, you might think such skills are outdated, however the way you conduct yourself in any professional situation, over the telephone, in the office or in meetings will reflect others opinion of your future capabilities.

This session is intended to reinforce the importance of good conduct, whatever your current role, leaving colleagues and clients with the right impression. Then, when opportunities present themselves you can seamlessly slip in to any role with confidence in your own ability to succeed.

Learning Objectives

  • This session will explore first impressions, every day is an interview for the job you eventually want to do.
  • We will review different ways to present yourself, to you feel comfortable with who you are and to help project confidence in your abilities in a business environment.
  • Recognise what your good looks like, this isn’t a presentation course so role play will be undertaken in small groups as you begin to create your own business style.
  • Plan to prepare not prepare to fail, we discuss the dangers of “winging it” and how to present an image that is polished.

Individual and Corporate Members may attend these sessions free of charge, lunch is provided, as it is for all such Continual Professional Development lunchtime events and they provide an ideal opportunity to network with fellow professionals and build your professional contacts.
