Claims Club: Whiplash Injury - Claims and Care

The Insurance and Actuarial Society of Glasgow's Claims Club is happy to announce that their next event will focus on the topic of whiplash injury claims. The seminar will be split in two parts – medical and legal aspects.

Learning objectives:
By attending the event delegates will be able to:

• Explain the nature of whiplash to include a medical explanation for the condition, the course of the illness, and its treatment
• Value a whiplash claim
• Compare Scottish v English whiplash claims
• Understand the type of evidence required to establish a whiplash claim

The seminar will be delivered by Dr Bhautesh Jani, MRCGP, PhD and Karina Manson, LLB (Hons).

Karina is a Partner in BTO’s insurance team. She specialises in defending a wide range of personal injury claims for various insurers and large self-insured companies. She has extensive experience of claims concerning public, employers' and road traffic liability in the Court of Session and Sheriff Court.

Dr Jani has been a practicing General Practitioner since 2012 and regularly assesses the patients with road traffic accidents. He is also involved in the research of electronic health records in the general practice.
