We are delighted to welcome as our lunch-time speaker for March, Helen-Clare Pope. Helen is Head of Insurable Risk, Tesco Stores Limited and Chairman of Airmic.

Helen joined Tesco in 2012 after 8 years as the Group Insurance and Risk Manager at Prudential. She has worked for over 20 years in the insurance industry mainly as in-house insurance risk management specialist but spent a short time in an insurance broking role. Helen is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and Institute of Risk Management. As part of her role at Airmic, Helen has led the initiative to develop and implement the global insurance database Insight Risk Manager.

Helen's talk will cover:

  • Global programmes
  • Insight Risk Manager Database

The Insight Risk Manager database provides information on local compliance and regulatory insurance requirements, policy conditions and premium payment terms. The main focus of the database is to provide guidance on admitted and non-admitted insurances by jurisdiction. The launch version covers regulations in 30 countries that represent 93% of the world's property and casualty insurance premiums. The database is the result of a cross-market project chaired by Helen and involving brokers, insurers and insurance trade associations

The talk will take place at Moore's Hotel Wednesday 11 March 2015 at 12.30pm, (£10 for members of the Insurance Institute of Guernsey and £12 for non-members, including lunch) Do remember that the attendance fee is payable whether lunch is taken or not. Please feel free to encourage non-member colleagues to attend should this be an area of interest but, please note, members of the Insurance Institute of Guernsey will receive priority in the event of capacity being reached.

Attendance will provide 30 minutes of Structured CPD under the Chartered Insurance Institute's CPD scheme. Please book your place now, and in any event before 5pm Friday 6 March, by emailing Cilla Thompson cilla.thompson@cglloyds.co.uk .
