Anne Williams ACII - Retires

The Liverpool Insurance Institute said a fond farewell to Anne Williams ACII. Anne retires In May 2017.

Anne started working in insurance in 1974 at the Britannic Assurance in Birmingham. Her first role was as an underwriter where she calculated premiums and mid-term adjustments without calculators or computers!. She then entered the calculations) in a big black book.

She started studying for the Insurance exams in 1976 and despite being the only female in the class persevered achieving her ACII in 1980.

In 1986 Anne joined Royal Insurance in Birmingham and in 1992 following promotion, transferred to Royal Insurance Head Office in Liverpool. Since then she has made Liverpool and Wirral her home.

Anne served on the Liverpool Institute Council from 1995 and was elected as President in 2002/3 with Matt Donnelly as Deputy President and Marie as Treasure .

Anne said that working with such great people influenced her move to Griffiths and Armour after taking early retirement from RSA, after 20 years service.

Following Anne’s retirement from Griffiths & Armour at the end of May she is undertaking a round Ireland tour starting on 1st June for 8 weeks with her husband Mark and their 2 dogs Ralph and Roisin. They are staying in 22 locations ranging from Airbnb to wooden shacks off grid, on the beach overlooking the Wild Atlantic Way. She is looking forward to not having that Sunday night feeling, a few glasses of Guinness and the “craic” in the local hostelry.

When she returns she will be kept busy with her work with Wallasey Village in Bloom, which she helped to form and other charities that she is involved with as well as visiting her daughter and granddaughters in Qatar.
