Leading by example! Well Done Marie McAnaulty!

On the 19th June Marie was awarded with the CII Distinguished Service Award The award recognises an individual’s outstanding dedication and significant contribution to their local institute in areas such as training, development, the enhancement of professionalism and overall commitment to their local institute.

Marie has been a very active member of Liverpool Institute since joining the CII in 2003, representing the council in many roles including Treasurer, President, Charity nominee and a Council member.
Griffiths & Armour, Marie’s employer, have provided a number of past presidents. Marie’s sponsors commented that her passion and ability to nurture potential presidents have played a part in this. Marie has drive, enthusiasm and is totally selfless. Her sponsors have added d that Marie focuses not on herself but always on others and how the institute can continue to grow.
Marie chaired the Insurance Charity from 2004 to 2010. One highlight was her bringing a large screen to the CII luncheon. Her presentation displayed as a back drop to the lunch brought tears to everyone’s eyes. It was not surprising that contributions to the charity were the most they had ever been for a lunch and there was a run on tissues!
Another highlight was her sterling work during the International Festival of Business which was hosted in Liverpool, a number of years ago. Marie was at the forefront of events, attending meetings, representing the IIL and on the CII stand.
Nothing goes unchallenged and Marie ensures IIL gives value for money in whatever it does.
Marie is also a driving force with the retired members annual event and does the same work for the retired members of staff for G&A. Her selfless, open and caring approach, has ensured she is a very popular member of the council. Her nomination was sponsored by no less than five past presidents. Marie fully deserves her award and IIL are very proud of her.
