Join us for an ‘IIM Bitesize’ session to introduce or refresh knowledge and awareness of particular areas of the insurance industry.
Nigel Ward, Senior Manager and Technical Lead at Aviva will be leading a session on the distinct elements of construction insurance policies including Construction All Risk (CAR) for structures and materials in the event of damage, Erection All Risk (EAR) when installing machinery and Delay in Start Up (DSU) for financial loss.
Learning Objectives are a follows:
- The purpose of Construction All Risks (CAR) insurance and Delay in Startup (DSU) insurance
- Review the CAR policy operative clause and wording and how it dovetails with risks faced by the insureds
- Learn how the policy responds to construction insurance claims
- Provide an overview of DSU coverage and how it works
