This session will focus on the fundamentals of High Net Worth home and motor policies and why and how they differ from a standard policy.
We will explore High Net Worth risks and underwriting considerations and challenges.
Ann Owens will be leading the session and has provided some information regarding her background below.
Ann is the Managing Director of the Aviva Private Clients division. Ann has worked in personal lines insurance with a focus on high net worth customers for 34 years, spending the first 15 years as a broker, holding a number of senior level positions.
Ann is a specialist in large and complex personal insurance risks and has underwritten some of the world’s most important private houses, art, jewellery and car collections in multiple jurisdictions.
Ann moved into underwriting in 2003 when she joined AIG as a founding member of the UK division of AIG’s Private Client Group and was subsequently the International Head of this business. Ann held various positions of increasing seniority during her 13 years service at AIG, latterly, she served as head of personal property and high net worth for the EMEA region.
Whilst at AIG, Ann was Chair of the EMEA Women’s group, and during this time was awarded the AIG Global Women’s Leadership Award.
Ann joined XL Catlin (now AxaXL) in 2016, as Chief Underwriting Officer, to set up the newly formed Private Clients business. Whilst at AxaXL, Ann was the Chair of the UK Women’s group committee. Ann remained at AxaXL until September 2021 and transitioned across to Aviva when the business was sold.
In 2020, Ann was awarded the Underwriting Professional of the Year award at the Incisive Media Women In Insurance Awards.
Ann is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, a Chartered Insurer and proud Mum to a 7 year old daughter.
