
Developing Confidence at Work - part 1

Self confidence can seem like the secret sauce at work. It enhances performance, enables clearer communication, drives career progression through risk-taking and improves overall job satisfaction and well-being.
In this session, we will lift the lid on self confidence so that you have more awareness, tools and techniques to help you develop in a range of situations at work.
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
- Recognise what self confidence is and isn’t
- Explain three common myths and misconceptions
- Apply five tools to develop your self confidence
Who is running the session?
Melissa Kidd is the Director of Motem Ltd. She helps professionals in the finance sector to communicate more effectively – with themselves and others.
A sought-after speaker for the PFS, CII, CISI, she’s worked with organisations including the Rathbones, Nucleus, SJP, Saltus and many smaller boutique planning firms.
She has been trained by the Plain English Campaign, she is a Master NLP Practitioner and a certified coach. Her background in psychology and communication means she brings both research-based approaches and highly practical tools.
Part 2 of Developing Self Confidence at Work will be face to face at the Insurance Institute of Southampton AGM on the 23rd April where Melissa will be building on the previous session, we will apply the awareness, tools and techniques in a range of contexts such as leadership and managing change.
