Awareness Week ‘Dementia Friends’ session now booking

During this year’s Awareness Week, the insurance community can join a free online ‘Dementia Friends’ session on Thursday 22nd June 12 pm-1 pm. You can book your place here. Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme is the biggest-ever initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform how the nation thinks, acts, and talks about the condition. Often people stop doing the things they enjoy in their local community as their dementia progresses because they are worried about getting the support they need. This is due to a lack of understanding, the stigma of the condition, confusing processes, and inaccessible environments. The impact on people’s quality of life and implications on their health is huge. Please make a note in your diaries and, where appropriate, let your Comms/Marketing/CSR teams know so they can schedule ICAW activity alongside any other initiatives. We’re hoping to make the campaign bigger and better than ever, so please help us spread the word by getting involved in any way you can. We’ll once again be issuing free giveaways and a digital Supporter Toolkit and would encourage you to start thinking of awareness-raising activities you could organise. Important information about possible upcoming disruptions to the CII services

The CII advised customers and members in November of their intention to transition to a new relationship management system in late Jan/early Feb 2023 as part of their commitment to improving the way they deliver value for members and learners. It is intended to complete the transition between 8-19 March. You do not need to take any action at this time, however members may wish to: • Consider booking any MCQ exams before March, should they fall around the time of the transition • Reflect on when any coursework assignments are due and submit them in good time If a members SPS is due for renewal in March, it is recommended that the renewal be submited once the application window opens on 1 March. The CII's dedicated maintenance webpage has all the up to date information on the transition.
