Underinsurance – The Hidden Perils!
The Insurance Institute of Perth and Dundee is delighted to be hosting a technical insurance event on Underinsurance. This is a CPD event and is open to all CII members and non members too.
Our speaker, Alastair Dewar is a well respected Chartered Loss Adjuster with Jelf Clark Thomson and a local institute past president.
Recently published statistics suggest 50% of businesses in the UK are underinsured. This could have serious financial implications and many SME’s may cease trading if faced with a large bill due to an underinsurance shortfall.
Alastair’s talk covers the different types of underinsurance and the penalties depending on policy wordings. The Insurance Act 2015 provides Insurers with further remedies should underinsurance be established following intimation of a claim and this will also be discussed.
This talk will benefit Brokers, Insurers and Loss Adjusters.
