Pulling the Trigger on Storm and Flood Perils

The UK has already seen 3 named storms this season and we are delighted to have Perth and Dundee CII council member Frank McGaffney deliver our first Breakfast Briefing on this topic. There can be misunderstanding of what circumstances trigger the flood and storm perils in a perils insurance policy. Frank will discuss these perils, with case law and examples and provide “flood” for thought whilst you enjoy a technical breakfast briefing with coffee/tea and breakfast rolls (available from 08.15). This in-person talk will take place at the Aviva office in Perth.

Frank McGaffney is claims director at Denis O Brown Insurance Brokers and a chartered loss adjuster with 36 years insurance profession experience. Frank started his insurance career at General Accident in Perth before moving into loss adjusting. Frank joined Denis O Brown in 2025 from QuestGates Loss Adjusters where he established and headed up their agriculture and forestry division.

Frank has been a Perth and Dundee CII council member for 15 years and is a past president.
