Insurance Charity Awareness Week

Insurance Charity Awareness Week
22 June 2026
It’s The Insurance Charity Awareness Week! We’re spreading the word that our industry has a dedicated charity providing financial support and practical guidance to those facing challenging circumstances.

The Insurance Charity are the only charity in the UK and Ireland solely supporting past and present insurance professionals and their families.

They can offer both one-off and regular financial support (including charitable loans) and practical guidance.

In 2025/2026 They awarded almost £700k to those needing support in the UK and Ireland. Examples of things they have made awards for include:

    • Property adaptations and repairs
    • Day-to-day essential costs such as rent/mortgage payments, food and energy
  • Counselling, specialist assessments and therapies
    • Disability aids
    • Furniture and household appliances
    • Funeral expense

Employers don’t need to pay or sign up to become a supporter and are not involved in the beneficiary application process.

People don’t need to be in crisis to reach out to us – there are lots of ways we can help.

Eligibility
If people are working or have worked in insurance and are experiencing misfortune and financial hardship, we may be able to help, irrespective of
their role and length of service.

People applying can have/have had an insurance specific role such as underwriting, broking, claims, providing customer advice in a contact center or loss adjusting. Alternatively, applicants may have/have had a non-insurance specific role in the industry such as marketing, IT, or HR.

They support people who are just starting out to those who have spent decades working in insurance, as well as retired people and those who have left the industry.

They can also support a dependent (like a partner or child) of a current or former insurance employee.
