Presidents Message

I would like to start by saying thank you to David; For your time as president and for your support and guidance towards me as deputy. Secondly, I would like to say thank the council for voting for me and allowing me to become president. I would also like to acknowledge and thank the members of the local institute who continue to support us as a council.
As I reflect on the history of the institute and the past presidents; I would like to start by saying that they are big shoes to fill! We owe great thanks to each and every past president, for which have built the local institute to its current glory.
Turning to myself, I’ve been a part of the council since 2023 and I’ve enjoyed every second of it. I’d like to pay special mention to Angela Henry for introducing me to the local institute; without which, I would not be stepping into this role today.
It also amazes me how such a small institute, deliverers such greatness, engagement and value towards its members. We are as one; collaborating and working together for “the greater good”.
During my tenure, as we continue to build on our success, I would like to always act with the following statements in mind:
- What would you, as members like to achieve from your local institute
- How can we get you more involved
- How can our CPD programme support you and your organisations training programmes
I would also like to go further by engaging with the local companies to see how we can support them further.
I would also like to look at how we can bring the next generation of ‘Account executives, Mortgage and protection Advisers, Underwriters, Claims handlers, Adjusters, Solicitors and a like’ into the industry. I believe this can be done by engaging with local schools to show case what a varied and rewarding industry it can be.
Finally, I would like to say thank you to every single council member and officer, for volunteering your time and for putting in 110% effort in with everything we do.
Here is to the next chapter of the local institute and as the crest says “United Strength is Stronger”
