Thursday 26th March 2026, 7.45am – 5.45pm
The Insurance Institute of Stoke-on-Trent are delighted to be offering its members a ‘once in a lifetime’ guided educational trip to London, the undisputed birthplace of the modern insurance industry and the global financial capital.
Please read to the end for all the terms and conditions.
Places are limited. Please email nola.craig@davies-group.com to book without delay.
This fantastic learning experience will commence with a guided walk around the insurance district, hosted by Howard Benge, Director of the Insurance Museum, to take in the beginnings of London trade and to explore how insurance developed alongside it. The walk will cover Mediaeval insurance, fire insurance, the coffee houses, the events and the people of EC3 as well as some of the modern EC3.
Delegates will be served a set menu lunch at ‘One Under Lime’ (within the Lloyds building) including tea, coffee and soft drinks.
To conclude, the Lloyds tour will provide a guided visit to the Underwriting Room with an explanation of how the Lloyd’s Market operates, the history of Lloyd’s, Loss Book, Lutine Bell and Nelson Collection. Visitors will also travel in the external lifts to see the Adam Room (provided this is open on the day) and other historical details on Gallery 11.
The visit will take place on Thursday 26th March 2026 and as the event has been significantly subsidised by the Insurance Institute of Stoke-on-Trent, the net cost to members is only £40 per person, which includes:
· return train travel from Stoke-on-Trent station to London, Euston
