Webinar 6 May 2026 - From Awareness to Action: Micro‑Habits That Protect Mental Health

Webinar Content
Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 (11–17 May) focuses on action - because while awareness matters, real change happens when we translate it into practical steps. This brand-new, evidence-led session is designed to help people move from 'knowing' to 'doing' by building a small set of repeatable, workplace-friendly micro-actions that support mental health for yourself, for colleagues, and at a wider organisational level.
The session introduces a simple 'Action Mapping' approach: participants identify one pressure point in their working day (e.g., relentless meetings, constant interruptions, blurred boundaries, isolation) and then select tiny, realistic actions that reduce risk and build protection and resilience over time. We’ll explore why small actions work (especially under stress and cognitive load), how to choose actions you’ll actually repeat, and how to create the conditions for action as a team - so wellbeing doesn’t rely solely on individual willpower.
The webinar is interactive throughout, and participants leave with a personal 7‑day action plan plus a 'team actions menu' they can use immediately in team meetings or 1:1s.
Jay Unwin - Bio
With a decade of experience in health, fitness and wellbeing, plus a former career in science education, Jay is extremely well-placed to simplify ideas which are often considered complex or overwhelming.
After burning out quite catastrophically on two separate occasions, Jay developed a mental and physical fitness philosophy to rebuild the strength of his body and mind, and to avoid slipping back down ever again.
This philosophy is now the cornerstone of what he teaches to leaders and their organisations around the world, including Frontier Economics, Christian Aid, the RAC and the University of Southampton. It’s all pinned on a few central tenets: accessibility, adaptability and efficiency.
Jay's mission is quite simple: to help as many people as possible improve their overall quality of life, through improved mental and physical fitness.
