What causes a market cycle and are we heading into a soft market in 2024?
This presentation, delivered by Alan Chandler, one of the UK industry's most popular presenters, looks at what causes market cycles in the insurance industry and what is likely to occur in 2024.
Alan correctly called the hard market in 2020 and is now predicting 2024 will see a change in demand and supply, where insurers will have to start to fight more for business, with a resultant change in the way they operate.
Whilst many people will not want to see the hard market end, history tells us it will - and not mentioning it will not stop a soft market from starting. This presentation will equip you for the change in the market which is on the way.

Why underinsurance in home contents is so prevalent, and practical tips to address it
Underinsurance is a major issue in the industry – many reports suggest that around 2/3 of homes are underinsured. Unfortunately, the same is often true for the contents in those homes.
Why is this, and what can insurers and brokers do about it?
This webinar is for brokers and insurers who handle home contents insurance. It may also be of interest to insurers and brokers who insure significant assets such as art, silverware, trophies and wine for commercial customers (e.g. restaurants, hotels, charities, sports clubs, offices).

FCA GI Consumer Duty and Multi-Occupancy update
Consumer Duty has been live for over six months now, and the FCA has urged firms to get on with it! Sheldon Mills, Executive Director of Consumers and Competition, warned that firms who ignore it or who pose the most harm can expect swift action.
With 52 million financial services consumers in the UK relying on our sector to deliver good outcomes, they should be even better protected from harm, particularly in these challenging economic times. The Duty means that consumers should receive communications they can understand, products and services that meet their needs/provide evidenced fair value, and get the customer support they need, when they need it.
During this webinar, Branko will also cover
- the new rules on multi-occupancy insurances that came into effect from 1 January 2024 following intervention by the government and
- the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Bill which will see the ban of commission sharing, plus what insurers have been doing to implement these rules.

Understanding why D&O Insurance is essential for all directors
The Companies Act 2006 puts very clear and onerous duties on directors. The presentation explores this Act, and how a D&O (Directors’ & Officers’) policy can respond to this liability.
For broking staff advising on D&O, gaining a full understanding of directors’ personal duties under the Companies Act will enable them to more clearly identify why no director can afford to be without D&O cover.
For company directors, this webinar will serve as a useful guide to the importance of D&O insurance to your business.
