The Power of Questions
‘The wise man doesn't give the right answers, he poses the right questions.’ (Claude Levi-Strauss) Asking the right questions of ourselves, as much as of others, is one of the keys to success in our business and personal lives. This virtual training programme helps us to understand why questions are so important and how powerful they can be in leading us to the outcomes we want to achieve. This type of learning is applicable at all levels across the insurance industry, whether in sales, negotiation, claims, underwriting, broking or simply working collaboratively in teams or meetings. The session will explore the following: • the limitations of language and using questions to recover lost information – ‘transderivational search’ • directing focus in ourselves and others • building awareness, accountability, and responsibility – psychological ownership and action • questions vs statements, giving vs seeking • building empathy and rapport • skilful questioning techniques in Sales and Client work – exploring SPIN sales questions

A Guide to Understanding Policy Wordings
Recent litigation has demonstrated the importance of understanding the policy contract wording. This webinar explains how policy wordings are constructed and may be interpreted. Joint Learning and Development (CPD) Conference
Our annual Learning and Development Conference takes place on Thursday 17 October and is once again hosted jointly by the Insurance Institute of Sussex and North Downs Insurance Institute. Annual Dinner
Our Annual Dinner returns to the Grand Hotel, Brighton for 2025, to build on the success of our last sell-out event by taking advantage of this historic and prestigious sea-front setting! Guests will be able to look forward to a warm welcome with a refreshing drink, followed by a delightful selection of canapés. The main course and dessert will be served as a sit-down meal at allocated tables and this will be followed by a live band, plus other entertainment which is yet to be confirmed.
