There are many links between the world of wine and a good strategy for diversity and inclusion in the workplace and society as a whole.

Wines and humans share the same basic structures but are unique in their own way. Like labelling in society, people tend to make judgements about wines based on labels but in fact wine tasting requires us to notice characteristics and to reflect on our experience and this is exactly the same strategy that helps to encourage diversity and inclusion.

By tasting 5 different wines from Spain and Portugal, we will learn how to move beyond labels and relate this to diversity and inclusion both in the workplace and society as a whole.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

➢ identify the key elements of a successful diversity and inclusion strategy.

➢ recognise the link between diversity and inclusion and the world of wine by moving beyond labels.

➢ implement a personal and corporate strategy that takes account of diversity and inclusion.
