The Insurance Institute of Cardiff invite you to a webinar on ESG and Insurance - The Challenges and Opportunities

Event Details:

Thursday 18th January 2024 – 12:00 – 13:00

The webinar will be run via Zoom, a global web-conferencing solution. Zoom is easy to use, a link and joining instructions will be sent to you at the time of booking.

About the session:

Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) regulation is on the rise globally with many new requirements for companies to report on how they are managing ESG risks, and what actions they are taking to prevent negative impacts on the environment, improve Social Responsibility and operate ethically.

The insurance industry finds itself in a unique position as it already has the ESG fundamentals of managing risks and robust governance at its core, but in many ways the sector (along with others) is having to play catch up to ESG expectations.

Firms are needing to review their existing strategies, policies and procedures to prepare not only for incoming regulation, but also the impact of growing stakeholder awareness around ESG.

In this session we will explore some of the biggest ESG challenges and opportunities facing the industry, and take a look at the potential ways to manage and tackle them.

Learning Objectives:

  • Be able to define the key components of ESG
  • Understand the importance and significance of ESG
  • Be aware of some of the key challenges and opportunities facing the insurance sector and ways to tackle them

About the speaker:

The Course will be run by Kerris Earle of Zing 365.

I am a compliance professional with 9 years’ experience in highly regulated environments in a variety of roles. With 5 years’ experience in compliance and governance positions across insurance and fundraising. I chose compliance as my specialism as I enjoy topics that require critical thinking, ethical consideration, interpretation of regulation/legislation, and that offer challenge in an environment subject to change.

My knowledge and experience coupled with my passion and approach to compliance as a collaborative cross-organisational function, moving away from compliance as a “tick box exercise”, has helped shape and support organisations to succeed whilst still offering protection from financial and reputational damage.

Training, learning and development and offering guidance on complicated topics in simple understandable terms has always been my favourite part of my previous roles, and I am passionate about sharing my knowledge, experience, and expertise to allow others to develop and grow.
