Session Overview:

Annuities are financial products designed to provide a steady stream of income over a specified period of time or for the rest of your life. They are often used as a part of retirement planning to ensure a consistent income after you stop working.

Annuities are typically offered by insurance companies, and they come in various forms with different features. This session talks about how pension legislation has been changed s a result of the Spring Budget announcements, how annuity rates have improved over the past year and the choices are available.

At the end of this presentation, attendees will understand:

  • How pension legislation has been changed as a result of the Spring Budget 2023 announcements.
  • How annuity rates have improved, together with a reminder of the significance of individual underwriting
  • What choices may be available in shaping death benefits for the varied needs of clients, and how that may be used to cascade wealth to the next generation.

Bio: John Chew-Pension, Tax & Estate planning specialist

John is working with advisers to help them navigate the broader issues of retirement and estate planning.

Previously John was commercial director at Fidelity International, responsible for the strategy and business plan for Fidelity Retirement Services.

Prior to Fidelity, John worked at Legal and General as product and funds director in the savings business.
