CPD Seminar: An introduction to Fire Forensics in Jersey

We are pleased to announce that Mark Johnson, an independent Forensic Fire Investigator and Retired Principal at Jersey Fire and Rescue Services has agreed to deliver a talk on Fire Investigation to our members. Mark will provide us with an introduction into Fire Forensics in Jersey.

Learning Objectives

• The local picture, why we investigate fires, who does what: Police, Fire, Loss Adjusters, Forensic Experts.
• What are Forensic Experts? Types of experts. What could be done to improve this.
• How do we determine the cause of a fire and how does this help the Insurance Industry. What to look for. Post fire indicators, arson indicators.
• Legislation, Statistics, Trends
