The Insurance Institute of Jersey is delighted to offer members an exclusive private tour of The Cavern, a remarkable piece of infrastructure hidden beneath St Helier that plays a vital role in protecting the island from flooding and supporting Jersey's response to climate change.

Carved out of granite and capable of holding 25 million litres of water, The Cavern helps reduce flood risk in St Helier by storing excess stormwater and sewage during periods of heavy rainfall, preventing pollution from entering St Aubin's Bay.

This strategic asset is only opened to the public once a year, making this a truly unique opportunity. We are extremely fortunate to have secured a private tour exclusively for CII members and at no cost.

During the visit, members will gain valuable insight into:
