CII Leicester visits Triumph

On 29 November, a cohort of 14 CII Leicester members had the privilege of a behind the scenes tour of the iconic Triumph Motorcycles factory in Hinckley Leicestershire.

We were able to get close to the production line and also saw various other parts of the plant.

We learned about storage of the bikes (a maximum number of 2,683 were shipped in a single week!) and got a real insight into the research and development at the plant.

We gained an understanding about the use of 3D printers, spray painting (which is still all done by hand), quality control and testing, Health and Safety considerations and the use of robotics.
 
The tour was very well received and a massive thanks goes out to our tour guide John.  Based on feedback on the day, we hope to repeat these events in the future for the benefit of our members.
