Insurance-Themed Visit to JCB Worldwide Headquarters

Overview

Leicester CII is offering members an opportunity to join an insurance-themed tour of JCB’s World HQ at Rocester, near Uttoxeter on 24 September. The tour will start with an audio/visual presentation in the JCB Theatre showing the global manufacturing facilities and products, followed by a guided tour of the ‘Story of JCB’ exhibition. You will then move on to the assembly line of the world-famous Backhoe Loader machine. Here you will see the process of how the machine is built from the delivery of the sheet steel, profiling, laser cutting, welding, paint shop, assembly and finally the finished product! The tour concludes with a presentation by JCB Insurance Services on the particular challenges that arise with the JCB operation; plus a three-course lunch. The visit, including lunch, is sponsored by JCB Insurance Services to whom we are most grateful.

Dress Code: Sensible shoes must be worn. There are some restrictions on photography.

When: Thursday 24 September. 10.45am arrival at site for an 11am prompt start. The visit will finish around 2pm. There are 20 places available.

The site address is Lakeside Works, Rocester, Uttoxeter ST14 5JP. It’s approximately 65 minutes from the centre of Leicester by road. From previous experience, many members will choose to drive there or share with colleagues. We therefore aren’t arranging a coach but will liaise to ensure that all members with a place on the trip can get there.

Places are first-come, first-served. Please apply to keithtorrance@enterprise.net  When emailing, please quote your CII PIN and the postcode from which you will be starting any journey to Rocester. Please be there for 10.45am, allowing time to find the right building.
