GI Exam Training

We at Leicester CII hope that everyone is making the most of the summer. However, this is also the time of year when members who have not yet achieved chartered status will be thinking about their plans for ‘back-to-school’ time in September. Whether you are starting or continuing studies at Associateship, Diploma or Certificate, we are here to support you.
Continuing our partnership with Intuition Training, there’s a summary below of what’s available at each level with a link to find more detail. However, we particularly want to trumpet the new support we can offer for Associateship exams. Learners need to pass five exams at advanced diploma level. In the past, these have been offered on a five-subject take-it-or-leave-it list. For the first time, we are able to offer support in NINE subjects. We believe this is a first anywhere in the UK. Members can choose which subjects they wish to take to achieve the required credits total. If you have already passed some subjects but then hit a brick wall, this is the time to take an additional subject or two to complete the chartered journey.
The training we offer is free to members. As always, we rely on employers to provide study time and fund study text/exam entry.
All sessions are recorded so learners can re-listen as part of their studies (audio versions are also available). In addition to the live training time and the recorded sessions, learners will be provided with a broad set of training and revision materials for each unit.
Advanced Diploma
Remote training consists of two-and-a-half-hour discussion sessions based on key topics relevant to the unit in question – plus over-arching guidance on writing ACII assignments in terms of structure, content and market expectations. There will be training on two different units every six months, offering learners a choice of pathway towards their ACII. The choice of subjects this autumn is 992 Risk Management in Insurance, starting on 25th September or 820 Advanced Claims, starting on 2nd October (or both if you are enthusiastic and your employer is supportive).

Diploma
The training consists of a detailed explanation of each textbook chapter, including end-of-chapter questions, during five three-hour sessions. After a six-week break for drafting of the Diploma assignment, there are two further three-hour sessions based on mock exams and revision quizzes. Members can choose from M80 Underwriting Practice starting on 7th September, M05 Insurance Law starting on 23rd September or M92 Insurance Business & Finance starting on 24th September.
There is more detail here.
Certificate
Three subject passes are needed. To cater for both broker and insurer interests, we are offering training in five subjects. There are 21 hours of training in the compulsory (and meaty) IF1 Insurance Legal and Regulatory. Training in the other four subjects is four three-hour sessions. The choice in September is IF1 starting on 8th September, IF4 Claims Handling Process on 9th September or IF8 Packaged Commercial Insurances on 24th September.

The trainer at Intuition is Adrian Toomey ACII. He provides training for various organisations, including directly for the CII.
