Business Continuity – An introduction and perspective on good practice

Business Continuity Management (BCM) covers a broad scope of responsibilities including from prior to an incident through to long term recovery. BCM may require the engagement of multiple stakeholders both within and connected to an organisation. This presentation will provide an overview of BCM and a risk engineer’s perspective on good practice.

By the end of this session attendees will
• Have an appreciation of the scope of Business Continuity Management
• Recognise different types of business continuity solution and the typical users of these solutions
• Have an appreciation of business continuity terminology
• Be able to engage with stakeholders in professional level discussions on business continuity management.

Speakers biography
Alan has 20 years as a Risk Engineer at insurers, brokers and clients and has worked in 30 countries. Specialist experience in business interruption and business continuity management, including as business continuity practice lead for Aon Australia and Business Continuity Management Specialist at Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty.
