This lecture is designed as an entry level guide to what Engineering covers. Will suit people new to the insurance sector or people working in other areas that would like to know more about the Engineering area of insurance.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this session attendees will understand:
• An overview of available Engineering covers
• What underwriting considerations for each cover should be considered
• Where claims arise in connection with engineering covers
• Developing areas of Engineering Insurance and the future

Speaker Biography
The presentation will be run by Alistair Cottle, Senior Trading Underwriter for Construction, Power and Engineering at Aviva.
Having worked as a broker for 10 years, Alistair switched his attention to underwriting where he believes he brings both perspectives to the table when considering risks and the possible implications to clients. He is actively engaged with the industry delivering education programs and this is reflected in his own exploits where he has MSc in Psychology, is an Associate with the CII and represents the Edinburgh Insurance Institute on the Education committee.
