It has now been over a year since the Official Injury Claim (OIC) portal went live and already trends are forming. At this stage, the main question we have to consider is - has the OIC portal had a successful first year? However, the answer to this question is a complicated one and has actually raised more questions than a clear answer at present.

  1. Understand the brief history of the intention when implementing the OIC and whether the reality has met the expectation within the first 12 months.
  2. Understand trends and tactics that are being utilised by both Claimants and Defendants and/or their representatives when dealing with OIC claims.
  3. What the next 12 months holds for claims within the OIC Portal and what challenges we anticipate that Defendants will see in the future within the OIC
