Insurance Institute of Manchester Annual General Meeting 2026

Join us for our Annual General Meeting, followed by a dynamic CPD panel event exploring the power - and pitfalls - of personal brand in today’s insurance market. Our panel brings together a diverse mix of voices: guest speakers, insurance professionals, and a balanced counter‑view from someone who believes social media visibility may be overrated or even harmful. This blend of perspectives promises an honest, practical, and thought‑provoking discussion for professionals at every stage of their career.
Following the AGM, the Insurance Institute of Manchester will host a focused CPD session exploring how social media, personal branding, and authenticity influence modern career development. The session will challenge assumptions about online professionalism, discuss how visibility can support or hinder progression, and provide practical guidance for young professionals navigating digital platforms.
Topics include building a credible personal brand, using LinkedIn and TikTok strategically, career transitions after time away from the workplace, and maintaining healthy boundaries around mental health and work/life balance.
The panel discussion will feature Trey Norman, insurance broker and former Love Island contestant, and Star Holroyd, social media influencer, who will share their experiences of managing public profiles while building professional credibility.
Your local institute council invites you to attend our 2026 Annual General Meeting in order to hear first-hand reports from council members on previous and future activities and vote on the appointment of new council members.
The AGM will be held in person.
If you feel you could make a positive contribution, it is an ideal first step to becoming involved. If you are interested in joining Council please contact us.
