Insurance Institute of Manchester Leadership Programme 2026

The Insurance Institute of Manchester is offering you the chance to join a leadership programme to help you develop your career.
We are looking for people who are enthusiastic about their jobs and keen to develop both themselves and our industry. Over 6 months from May 2026 successful applicants will attend 9 workshops, the dates are detailed below and will be face to face and for a half day.
The aim of this program is to provide useful and effective workshops designed for leaders and will cover a range of topics from ‘Building a Strong and Successful Team’ through ‘Effective Presentations and Practical Application’. At the end there is an exciting opportunity to speak to the leaders from the insurance market during an interactive panel session.
The training sessions will develop attendees as individuals and also benefit the company they work for, at no cost to the company.
Entry Criteria
You don't need to be a CII member to apply, but if you get on to the programme with us, we are sure you will want to be one soon:
- suggested +5years experience in the industry
- working towards or thinking about professional qualifications
- from any section of the industry (e.g. operations, IT, etc.)
- application supported by your line manager and employer
- passionate about developing yourself!
The course will take place on the following dates:
20th May, 3rd June, 2nd July, 29th July, 2nd September, 23rd September, 14th October, 4th November, with a final session on 25th November 2026.
How to enter:
- Check that you meet the entry criteria and that your line manager is on board with you applying
- Complete the application form (document is at the bottom of this page); don't forget to ask you line manager to sign it
