Alastair Murray has some useful facts, statistics and advice to say about Cyber Security. He has been designing Websites, managing servers, and publishing large and complex secure trading platforms for brokers and IFAs since the 1990s.

Alastair and his company, The Bureau, are responsible for hundreds of Websites belonging to insurance and financial firms, many that hold personal, confidential and online transactional data. This experience of all things online and keen focus on security is valued and respected by his clients.

Alastair’s talk on cybercrime and security will alert you to the very real dangers whilst offering timely advice on how to keep up with developments and stay safe online.

Cyber Security Topic

Alastair demonstrates a now not uncommon “hack” of an office network and how simple it isto fall victim to these scams. Staff are increasing vulnerable to Phishing fraud where a familiar email address of a supplier or work colleague is cloned to encourage them to do what they would not normally do...click on that emailed link or attached Word file!...

Alastair goes onto to explain the simple steps to take to beef-up your defences against cybercrime - the Cyber Essentials!

The key learning objectives include:

  • the commercial benefits of securing the Cyber Essentials Accreditation.
  • reasons for learning how to use office networks and systems safely.
  • the need for cyber awareness training and better staff protection.
  • the importance of cyber liability insurance protection.
