  • Quantify the business protection opportunity, the demographics of UK small businesses and how you can best advise your clients
  • Recognise the need for businesses to protect their debts, the loss of a key person and to also consider their shareholdings and protection for their families
  • Demonstrate various ways to structure policies including the use of Trusts and option agreements with an eye on the effects of taxation. You will also see how calculators from Legal & General can support the advice process

  • Comprehend how top slicing might be applied given the recent changes to the computation for this calculation.
  • Examine how best to withdraw money from a bond in the most tax efficient way.

  • Understand the different types of personal protection
  • Explain how these could be used with a range of client circumstances
