In this interactive session, Hazel Bowen and Carl Rich will discuss the importance of obtaining a client’s true objectives and explore ways of approaching these conversations effectively. As an interactive session you will practice questioning techniques and reflect on how you can incorporate these into your personal advising style. The session will also cover how to document objectives well, and will finish with a Q&A.

Hazel is a Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. Passionate about empowering clients through good financial planning, she enjoys working with clients through life transitions; helping them to achieve their desired lifestyle and wider goals with their wealth. In addition to her CII qualifications Hazel holds the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing and the Resolution Specialist IFA Accreditation for Separation and Divorce. Hazel has sat on the PFS committee for seven years and was Chair for four years before stepping down in January 2021. She remains on the committee with a focus on financial education. During her career in financial services Hazel has received three Personal Finance Society Awards, including Chartered Financial Planner of the Year 2022/23.
