
Embracing Neurodiversity - Unlocking Strengths in the Workplace

Perth & Dundee Institute is delighted to offer a series of mental health webinars to our CII and PFS members.
The first of these is an introduction to neurodiversity, this webinar highlights the unique strengths neurodivergent individuals bring to teams. Participants will gain insight into inclusive practices, how to support colleagues, and ways to create a culture where all minds thrive.
Session Objectives
Having attended this session, participants will be able to:
- Define "neurodiversity" and identify at least two neurodivergent strengths that can enhance team performance.
- Implement one actionable adjustment or inclusive practice for their workplace.
- Describe three ways their team can better support neurodivergent colleagues.
- Demonstrate understanding of the legal and ethical considerations involved in fostering neuro-inclusive workplaces.
Speaker - Jay Unwin
Jay brings over a decade of multidisciplinary experience across education, fitness, and psychology. With an MSc in Psychology and a BSc (Hons) in Biology, Jay is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society, as well as an associate member of both the International Stress Management Association and the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine. Jay’s career includes roles as a science teacher, functional fitness coach, and gym owner, providing a unique perspective on the intersection of physical and mental wellbeing.
Having personally navigated burnout, cancer, depression, and fibromyalgia, Jay is deeply committed to driving cultural change and empowering individuals and organisations with practical tools to thrive at work and in life. Jay’s lived experience, combined with professional expertise, fuels a mission to create healthier, more resilient communities.
