Enrolled onto Cert or Dip CII units but need some help with revision and study?

Check this upcoming programme of study support as it might be just the help you need towards achieving your Cert CII/Dip CII.

Introduction

Your local institute are once again funding a limited number of places on a Cert and Dip study programme with Intuition Training. This means it is free to you - on a first come, first served basis. Adrian Toomey - Intuition Training - is providing a programme of tuition for the main Cert & Dip subjects. All of the training will be online. 

Format of the training

Training is flexible. e.g. If you need IF1 help, you can join the IF1 cohort. If you have already completed IF1 but need IF4 help or Dip help for example, you can join that cohort when the course becomes available again. It is available unit-by-unit, and consists of afternoon 3-hour sessions every 2 weeks (e.g. totalling 21 hours for IF1, and 12 hours for IF4).  Sessions cover the detail of the study text, supported by end-of-chapter questions. This is followed by revision sessions based on mock exams and revision quizzes.

Each session is recorded so learners can re-listen as part of their studies. Audio versions will also be available, so you can listen while driving or walking. In addition to the training time and the recorded sessions, all learners will be provided with a broad set of training and revision materials for each unit. Groups are made up of individuals from local institutes all over the UK.

Who is eligible to apply?

Research has told us that employers tend to pay for unit enrolment and exam booking but do not usually pay for revision training beyond the CII material. This training programme has therefore been set up to fill this gap, and is designed for those local members who do not already have revision training delivered online or face to face via their employers. 

Only applicants who can attend all sessions for their chosen unit may apply, and you must also agree the ambassadorial role as below.

Please note that The Insurance Institute of Plymouth & Cornwall is funding tuition ONLY for those members of this local institute who  reside/work in this geographical area. If you are not a member of Plymouth & Cornwall Institute, why not check with your Local Institute if they are also participating in this scheme? If you are in any doubt over your eligibility, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

No subsidy application form is required, but due to the size of the Institute and therefore amount of funds from CII, funding is limited each year and is only available on a first come, first served basis.

As part of the funding support, learners must agree to take on an ambassadorial role in their workplace for the Insurance Institute of Plymouth & Cornwall – sharing details of CPD initiatives with colleagues, endorsing the benefits of CII membership and qualifications (be that in person or on social media/Linked In etc) – overall, being a spokesperson, focal point and cheerleader for the Insurance Institute of Plymouth & Cornwall where they work.  

The current programme is shown below, and Adrian can provide all the scheduled dates for the sessions. As there are only limited places, you will need to be sure you can attend all sessions for your chosen unit.

What do you need to do next?

1) Check that you are enrolled onto your Cert CII/Dip CII unit. There is no funding from the local institute available for this enrolment (apart from the local subsidy that is available for resits)

2) Contact Adrian Toomey adrian.toomey@intuitiontraining.co.uk for the full schedule of dates.  Check with your employer that you can be released on the dates and times for your unit.

3) Apply for a place on the sessions by emailing Adrian Toomey adrian.toomey@intuitiontraining.co.uk You must confirm:

- your name, workplace and CII membership number

- the unit you wish to take

- that you are a member of Plymouth & Cornwall CII and that your workplace doesn't already have a revision/training programme in place

- that you are happy to take on an ambassadorial role at your workplace, through simple actions such as sharing CPD details with colleagues, endorsing the benefits of the local institute, posting on Linked In about your study sessions, coming along to social events, and being a general "cheerleader" for the qualifications etc.

Intuition Training. Your trainer will be Adrian Toomey. He has experience coaching on many different CII units at Advanced Diploma (ACII), Diploma and Certificate level. He runs training programmes and revision sessions with insurers, brokers, claims specialists and MGAs, from single office firms through to global organisations, supporting hundreds of learners towards successful completion of their CII qualifications.
