AF1 (Personal Tax & Trust Planning) Pre Exam Training, Friday March 22nd 2019, Fareham/Whiteley/Southampton

The Personal Finance Society Hants and Dorset Regional Committee in association with the Insurance Institute of Southampton have organised a training day for those members who are studying for and taking the AF1 examination. Priority will be given to Hampshire based members of the PFS Hants and Dorset Region.

The cost of the day’s training will be £50. There is a maximum of 15 attendees. If we are oversubscribed, you will be placed on a waiting list. Booking and venue details to follow shortly.

The day will commence at 0930 sharp and finish by 1645.

The AF1 preparation day aims to increase your chances of passing the exam.

AF1 is a challenging exam and candidates need to be well prepared if they are to have a reasonable chance of passing.

This will be very much a revision day so it’s important that you come with a reasonable knowledge of the main subjects of the syllabus.

On the day we will cover:

  • The typical income tax questions you can expect in the exam
  • The typical CGT questions you can expect in the exam
  • The typical IHT questions you can expect in the exam.
  • The taxation of the main investment products
  • The main types of trusts and how they are taxed.
  • Substituted decision making (LPA)
  • Wills and intestacy
  • Bankruptcy

If you go to www.audley-training.co.uk you can access a lot of material that will help you prepare for the day. A good place to start would be the video tutorials and then go to the tax section. These cover almost all the material that might be tested. They are all quite short, typically 15 to 20 minutes so try and watch as many as you can ahead of the day.
